DENEB MARTOS - expanded cinema

Deneb Martos is a Spanish expanded-film artist specializing in no-camera cinema. In 2019, she projected 𝘎𝘖𝘓𝘋 𝘍𝘐𝘓𝘔 ( https://vimeo.com/371582541 ) at the Filmadrid Festival, a piece for 35 mm film treated with gold leaf. For this work, Wade Matthews improvised a soundtrack with real-time digital manipulation of recordings of noises generated by the proyector. Since then, he has improvised soundtracks for two other works by her, each with a different approach. Together, they have presented these pieces live at the Filmmadrid and Projector Festivals in Madrid, the S-8 Festival of Peripheral Cinema in A Coruña, in the Pamplona Planetarium for the Festival Internacional Punto de Vista, and at the Botanical Gardens of Vitoria-Gasteiz.
