In GENMAICHA, Wade Matthews and guitarist Javier Pedreira share and invent musical dialogues on the basis of intense listening and exploration. The results depend on the place and the moment, as well as the energy of the listeners. The sound world is ever changing as each musician surprises himself and his colleague, as well as their audience. GENMAICHA has shared this process with listeners in festivals, concert series and live radio broadcasts, and have also given several workshops. Sometimes their music is robustly noisy, sometimes it is surprisingly gentle, but it is always in the moment, protean and agile.
